After many months of recording video tutorials for The Open Source Photography Course, it was a nice change to be out taking photos for fun again. All the photos in this blog post were editing in Linux using darktable for the RAW editing, and GIMP for the rest.

I have spent so much time learning how to take good photos under hideous fluorescent lights and various low-light situations, I almost forgot how great it is to work with natural sunlight. I wanted to experiment with back-lit photos when the sun is low because it isn’t something I do often.
